Setup changes
Keep the five inns beside the board. At the start of each phase, put one inn face up next to the black depot. Inns are not cleared at the end of a phase: if one is already waiting, stack the new one on top.
Buying an inn
An inn is bought like a black-depot tile: pay
2 silver, as your one purchase
of the turn, and put it on an empty storage space.
Placing an inn
- Place it with a die like any tile, on any empty space whose number matches, of any colour, next to your placed tiles.
- At most one inn per area. Separate areas of the same colour may each have one.
- It may go in at any point, not only as the last tile.
- It has no effect: no goods for a river, no silver on a mine, no animals in a pasture.
The town hall may place an inn from storage like any other tile (FAQ).
Inn scoring
When an area that contains an inn is completed, it scores as if it were one space larger.
| Area size | Normal points | With an inn |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | 3 |
| 2 | 3 | 6 |
| 3 | 6 | 10 |
| 4 | 10 | 15 |
| 5 | 15 | 21 |
| 6 | 21 | 28 |
| 7 | 28 | 36 |
[Solo] Players disagree whether a completed colour in the solo game may take an inn instead of a black-depot tile; the rules don’t say.
