Welcome to Orléans

Medieval France. Each of you leads a family that recruits followers into a cloth bag, draws a handful every round and puts them to work — trading, building, studying and serving the common good.
After 18 rounds the most victory points wins. Points come from:
Coins and goods —
brocade is worth the most.
Trading stations and
citizens, multiplied by your
development status.
2–5 players (solo and co-op scenarios too), about 90 minutes. Ready to set up? Open the setup checklist — it adapts to your player count.
Your followers and the boards

- You start with four followers in your colour:
farmer,
boatman,
craftsman and
trader. They never leave you. - Your player board has ten places; each needs a set of followers on its spaces.
- The game board has a track for each follower type, the development track and the map.

A round in seven phases
- Reveal the event (it strikes at the end of the round).
- Census: most farmers gains a coin, fewest pays one.
- Draw followers from your bag — as many as your
knights allow. - Plan at the same time: put followers on the places you want.
- Act in turn, one completed place at a time, until everyone passes.
- Resolve the event.
- Pass the start player token.

Grow your engine
- New followers make better draws:
knights draw more,
monks are wild,
scholars bring development.
Gear wheels fill a space for good; place tiles add new places.- Send your
merchant by ship and wagon to collect goods and build trading stations. - The Town Hall sends spare followers to the Beneficial Deeds for coins and citizens.
More: Actions.
Events and the final score
- Events bring income or demands; if you must pay and cannot, you suffer torture.
- At the end: 1 point per coin, goods by value, and (trading stations + citizens) × development status.
- Then add the expansions: Trade & Intrigue, The Plague or one of the Invasion scenarios.
