Library, Comets and University
Galileo Galilei's library and the Write action, the Book of Comets, and the university: objectives, Subject tiles and Scale tiles.
Library
Every Discovery card you collect goes into your library, at the top right of your player board. Slide each new card in sideways so that its four reward rows line up with the four rows of your library and stay visible. Cards taken face down for constellations go in the same way, light side up. There is no limit to the cards a library can hold.
Each row has a Book token, which starts on the space left of the library. The board itself prints
the first space of each row (from the top:
Lecture,
Quadrant,
Persuade,
Gain a die); the cards add the spaces after it.
Writing
Writing moves Book tokens to the right — never back — and pays out every space they reach.
| Icon | Effect |
|---|---|
| Move one Book token to the last space of its row | |
| Move Book tokens a total of that many spaces, split as you like |
- Take the reward of every space a token moves through or onto, left to right.
- Rewards are not optional when you can carry them out: no red die means no red increase, but a
must be taken.
Farewell is the one you may skip. - A space you already passed never pays again. Empty spaces count as steps.

Book of Comets
In Cleanup, every comet you used for the second time this turn goes on an empty page of the Book of Comets, and you take that page’s reward. One comet per page; extra comets go in the Appendix, which takes any number and gives 1 point each.

| Book of Comets page | Reward and use |
|---|---|
| 7 blue pages | Rewards include |
| 4 purple pages | Write 3, Persuade, Quadrant or 3 |
| Appendix | Each comet here is worth 1 |
[Moon] With 1–2 players the comet book tile may cover the four purple pages (Luna setup).
In the advanced game some characters also have personal comet pages on their Character Board, which you may fill instead (Advanced game).
University
The university on the game board has three parts: objectives at the top, four Scale tiles with their Subject tiles in the middle, and the Tribunal’s Reputation track below (The Tribunal).

Objectives
Four objectives are in play: the two printed at the top and two Subject tiles laid niche side up on the ? spaces. You check them in Cleanup.
- The first player to meet an objective scores 7 points and puts an Achievement token on its top space.
- Anyone who meets it later scores 3 points and puts a token in the shared space below.
- Whoever meets an objective may also take

[Moon] Luna adds a fifth Achievement token and the Moon objective (Moon objective).
Subjects and Scale tiles
Each Scale tile is paired with a Subject tile above it, arch side up, naming what that column
scores at the end. Your University tokens start on the stairs below the tiles (worth nothing).
Each
Lecture moves one token up one row and pays the reward printed beside that
row. The number in each row is your multiplier at the end.
