The Inquisition
Galileo Galilei's Inquisitors: the cellar, gaining and persuading Inquisitors, Inquisitor's Farewell, interrogations and the Tribunal's Reputation track.
The cellar
Inquisitors live in the cellar on your player board, below your Constellation tokens. It has four spaces. The number above each arch is that Inquisitor’s opinion of you during an interrogation; the number below is what it scores at the end of the game.

| Space | End of game | |
|---|---|---|
| 1st (leftmost) | –4 | –8 VP |
| 2nd | –2 | –4 VP |
| 3rd | –1 | –2 VP |
| 4th (rightmost, fully persuaded) | +1 | +1 VP |
Most Inquisitors arrive when you observe an object or lecture. Left alone they are harmless until you are interrogated — and costly at the end.
[Moon] Grand Inquisitors from the Moon use the same cellar but count double in interrogations (Grand Inquisitors).

You may take Farewell as the reward for an objective or from the library; you are never obliged to.
Interrogation
You are interrogated in Cleanup only if an Inquisitor actually moved this turn — by any Persuade, even one from a reward. A Persuade that could move nobody does not count, and you are interrogated once, however many moved.
- Add up the interrogation values of every Inquisitor in your cellar.
- Move your Tribunal token that many spaces: left if negative, right if positive.
- If the token is already at an end of the track and would move further, you instead lose (left end) or gain (right end) 2 points, once, however many spaces were left.
Remembering interrogation
Lay new Inquisitors down flat. Each time you Persuade one, stand it up before moving it. In Cleanup, any standing Inquisitor means an interrogation — then lay them all flat again.
The Tribunal
The Tribunal’s Reputation track runs below the university. Every astronomer starts on the –3 space. At the end of the game the space your Tribunal token is on scores:

| Spaces, left to right | Points at the end |
|---|---|
| 1–3 | –10, –7, –5 |
| 4 (start) | –3 |
| 5–7 | –2, –1, 0 |
| 8–11 | +1, +2, +3, +4 |
| 12–14 | +6, +8, +10 |
Past the left end an interrogation costs 2 points instead; past the right end it gains 2.
