Learn Woodcraft

Learn the game in 5 short steps. Everything links to the full rules.

Fill orders, earn a reputation

You run a woodworking shop. Over 13 rounds (14 with fewer than four players) you turn dice — wood — into the exact colours and values customers’ orders ask for. Completed orders are your main points: at the end each one scores the value of your reputation, up to 6.

One tile from the wheel

Each turn you take one of seven action tiles from the action wheel, collect the bonuses beside it, and move it one quadrant clockwise. Tiles left waiting gather bigger bonuses as the saw turns. A lantern lets you do a different tile’s action; three buy a bonus action.

Shape your wood

Dice are lumber. Buy them, grow them in pots (+2 each turn), saw them into smaller dice, splice them bigger with scrapwood, glue two into one. These free actions use your workshop tiles, which reset at each income phase — so improving the workshop means more of them.

Deliver orders on time

Orders sit in rows beside your board and slip down a row every income phase. Finish one early and you gain reputation; late, you lose points; never, and you lose 2 reputation. Hazelnut orders also let you claim a public contract.

Income, then the final count

Every few rounds an income phase pays blueberries and points from your income tracks, and you place a new order. At the end: public contracts, leftovers, penalties for unfinished orders, then each completed order times your reputation. Most points wins; ties go to the later player.
