Setup changes
- Shuffle the 3 new A-books into the A pile and the 3 new B-books into the B pile.
- Put the bookkeeper tile beside the board. It is an extra bonus space for the whole game.
New rules
The new books are bought and placed like any book. To move your ink jar onto one, you pay its 3 or 6 pounds as its need. You may flip one for the usual 2 pounds instead, but a flipped book shows no reward, so you lose its 5 or 10 (FAQ).
The bookkeeper space works like the majority bonus spaces: you may place a bonus marker there only if no other player has more bookkeepers face up in their action area (a tie is enough). Your bookkeepers are not used up.
| Your bookkeepers | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | |
| 2 | 5 pounds |
| 3 or more | 9 pounds |
Scoring
At the end, add the 5 or 10 of every Cooked Books book your ink jar has reached or passed to your bookkeeping score — not only the book it stands on — unless the book is flipped.
