Meet your army
Set up with the first-game armies in Setup. Your four unit cards are your army; their coins are in your bag (two each, plus your Royal Coin) and the rest sit in your supply. Read each card’s tactic once: that is what a face-up coin of that unit can do.
Draw three coins
Each round, draw 3 coins from your bag and keep them hidden. The initiative holder plays first; then you alternate, one coin per turn, until every hand is empty. Spent coins go to your discard pile, which refills the bag when it runs dry. How to Play
One coin, one action
Place a coin to deploy a unit on your empty location or to bolster it. Discard any coin face down to recruit, claim the initiative or pass. Discard a coin face up to move, attack, control or use the tactic of its unit on the board. Actions
Fight
An attack removes one coin from an adjacent enemy unit and puts it back in the box for good. A one-coin unit dies; a bolstered one survives. Watch for the Pikeman, which hurts its attacker, and the Knight, which only bolstered units can hit. Units
Take the field
Move a unit onto a location and spend one of its coins to control it. Taking an enemy location sends their marker back. The first side to place every Control Marker wins on the spot. Game End and Scoring
