End of Round and Game End

The Networks: Primetime end of round — upkeep, scoring your lineup, aging shows, refreshing the display — and the game end with its four end-game bonuses.

End of round

When every player has passed, end the round in this order (p. 10):

  1. Upkeep — everyone earns income and pays expenses for their lineup (Upkeep).
  2. Score lineup — everyone adds up their viewers and writes the round’s total on the scoreboard (Scoring your lineup).
  3. Age shows — move every show’s season cube down one row; a cube that leaves the bottom row cancels that show at once.
  4. Check genre tracks — anyone who forgot to advance a genre track for a show produced this round, or to take a genre bonus, may do it now.
  5. Clear pass track — take your cubes back.
  6. Pass the 1st-player token one player clockwise.
  7. Refresh the display — discard everything left in it and deal a full new display.

Upkeep

Add up the Income income on every card in your lineup and subtract the Expenses expenses on every card in your lineup. A positive result is paid to you from the supply; a negative one you pay. Cards in your green room do not count (FAQ).

Unable to pay expenses

If you owe more than you can pay, cancel a show of your choice right away and work the total out again — you lose its income and expenses along with those of its stars and ads. Keep canceling until you can pay or you have no shows left (p. 11).

Scoring your lineup

Your score for the round is the current viewers of every show in your lineup — the row its cube is on, plus the same row of each attached star (and of rightside-up promos) — plus any viewers you chose on the pass track. Write it on the scoreboard.

[Moguls] An Scores at the end of each round Ongoing mogul adds its viewers here. [Telly] Add 1 viewer per filled genre-grid square (Telly Time). [Execs] Butcher, Cheapo, Generic and Underground change this score (Executives).

Game end

After round 4, pay upkeep, score your lineup and age your shows as usual. Then score the end-game bonuses on the lower half of the scoreboard and add them to your four round scores. The highest final score wins; ties share the victory (p. 11).

End-game bonuses

The scoreboard’s end-game section from the rulebook example, lettered a–d

[Moguls] With Moguls or Executives, use the scoreboard side with a “Network, Moguls, & Execs” row: Game End moguls score there too (Moguls). [Telly] In Telly Time skip the Genres row (Telly Time). [Execs] Butcher scores +2 per rerun; Rich scores no Game End network cards (Executives).
