Solo: Lacerda
The Gallerist's official solitaire mode: the dummy player Lacerda, his clockwise movement and Assistants, the International Market, the end of the solo game and the three goal levels.
The rulebook’s solitaire mode pits you against a dummy player, Lacerda, who only moves around the board getting in your way. You win by reaching every goal of the level you chose.
Setup changes
Set up as for two players (Setup), and:
- choose a colour for Lacerda; put his Gallerist pawn and all his Assistants beside the board;
- 10 tickets of each colour in the box office;
- 8 Reputation tiles, in the 1st and 3rd columns of the International Market — the middle column is not used;
- return 4 Visitors of each type to the box;
- one easel with a Work of International Renown.
You still choose a starting Location and its Reputation tile, and there is still an intermediate scoring.
How Lacerda moves
- You play first. After your first turn, put Lacerda’s pawn on the Location opposite yours.
- After each of your later turns, Lacerda moves clockwise to the next Location, leaving one of his Assistants on the Location he leaves.
- When he lands on you or your Assistant, you are kicked out and take a Kicked-out action as usual.
- Lacerda takes no Location or Executive actions — except at the International Market.
Kicking him out:
- If you kick out one of Lacerda’s Assistants, it goes back to his supply and he discards one ticket from the box-office stack with the most tickets (any of the tied ones).
- If you kick out his Gallerist, he also discards a ticket and simply carries on clockwise next time: you cannot change his route.
Lacerda kicking out his own Assistant changes nothing.
Lacerda at the International Market
Every time Lacerda moves to the International Market, or you kick him or one of his Assistants out of it, put one of his Assistants on the table in the first empty space, scanning from the top left, left to right, row by row.
- His Assistants alternate between the parts of the table: the 1st, 3rd, 5th… go in the Reputation part, the 2nd, 4th, 6th… in the auction part. When one part is full, they all go to the other.
- A Reputation tile under his Assistant is discarded.
- Lacerda does not score; his Assistants simply take spaces, Reputation tiles and auction rank away from you.
End of the solo game
The game ends at the end of the round in which the last ticket leaves the box office. Then take one more action, at a Location other than your current one. Score as usual.

You must reach every goal of your level in the same game.
