Milestones and Final Scoring

Gold and neutral milestones on the scoring track, the end of the game after round 5, and all eight gold scoring tile sides.

Milestones

Milestones fire when a score counter reaches or passes a value. They are resolved between turns, after the active player’s free actions, never in the middle of a turn. Passing 100 points and going round again triggers nothing new.

Gold milestones

The gold milestones at 25, 50 and 70 points

At the end of a turn in which you reach 25, 50 or 70 points, choose a gold scoring tile and mark its highest free value: the first player on a tile takes the top value, the second the next, and so on — there is room for everyone. You can’t mark the same tile twice, so by 70 points you have a marker on 3 of the 4 tiles.

Neutral milestones

With 1–3 players, neutral markers sit above the 20- and 30-point spaces (setup). When you reach one, move one of its neutral markers to the leftmost empty discovery space — the left species first. That may discover a species. If all six discovery spaces are full, or the milestone has no markers left, nothing happens. With 4 players there are none.

Multiple milestones

Several players reaching milestones in one turn resolve them in turn order, starting with the active player; neutral milestones always go last. Discovered species are resolved after milestones.

[Agencies] Mission Relay starts with a gold tile already marked (Organizations).

End of game

The game ends after round 5, when the last player passes. Then add:

  1. points from your end-of-game scoring cards (gold boxes);
  2. points from the gold scoring tiles;
  3. any extra step a discovered species brings (Exertian danger comes after everything else).

Most points wins. Ties are shared — a real 100-point tie has been earned.

Gold scoring tiles

For each tile you marked, score your marked value × the number of times you meet its condition. Each tile has two sides; one is used per game.
