Milestones
How milestones are claimed and shared, and all 18 base-game milestones with their requirements and benefits.
Claiming milestones
Milestones reward the first player to reach a goal. Each one changes the rest of your game, so plan around which ones you can reach before the others.
- Meet a milestone’s requirement and cover it with a ✓
on your milestone tray. - Everyone who meets it in the same round claims it, with the full benefit.
- At the end of that round, everyone else covers it with a ✗
: it is gone. - Benefits are mandatory, even when they hurt you.
- One action may claim several milestones at once.
“Played” milestones are claimed when you reveal your structure in Restructuring; employees on the beach don’t count.
The milestones
| Milestone | Requirement | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
First to Train an Employee | Train someone on your turn. | Pay $15 less in salaries every Payday. |
First to Hire 3 Employees in 1 Turn | Hire 3 or more on your turn. | Hire 2 Management Trainees at once, as many as are left (no hire-and-train to skip missing ones). |
First to Pay $20 or More in Salaries | Pay $20 or more at Payday, after discounts. | Several Trainers, Coaches and Gurus may train the same employee in one turn. |
First Waitress Played | Play a Waitress. | Each Waitress played earns $5 instead of $3. |
First to Have $20 | Have $20 at the end of Dinnertime. | Look at the face-down bank reserve cards, now and any time. You may hint, but not show. |
First to Have $100 | Have $100 at the end of Dinnertime. | From the next Dinnertime your CEO gives the CFO bonus (+50%). Fire your CFO; you may never train another. |
First Errand Boy Played | Play an Errand Boy. | Errand Boys gain 2 of one drink; other drivers gain 1 more per supplier (Cart Operator and Zeppelin 3, Truck Driver 4). |
First Cart Operator Played | Play a Cart Operator. | Cart Operators, Truck Drivers and Zeppelin Pilots get +1 range. |
First Burger Produced | Produce a burger. | Gain a Burger Cook (if one is left). You pay their salary; you can’t train them this turn. |
First Pizza Produced | Produce a pizza. | Gain a Pizza Cook, the same way. |
First to Throw Away Food or Drink | Throw away an item at Cleanup. | Take a freezer: from the next Cleanup keep up to 10 unsold items. |
First to Lower Prices | Have a Pricing or Discount Manager at Dinnertime. | Your price is $1 lower for the rest of the game, this Dinnertime included. |
First Burger Marketed | Launch a burger campaign. | +$5 for every burger you sell. |
First Pizza Marketed | Launch a pizza campaign. | +$5 for every pizza you sell. |
First Drink Marketed | Launch a campaign for any drink. | +$5 for every drink you sell, of every kind. |
First Billboard Campaign | Launch a billboard. | No salaries for Campaign Managers, Brand Managers and Brand Director. All your campaigns from now on are eternal. |
First Airplane Campaign | Launch an airplane. | Count 2 extra open slots when choosing turn order. |
First Radio Campaign | Launch a radio. | Your radios add 2 demand to each house instead of 1. |
The milestone pictures show the original edition’s board; some names are worded differently on the Special Edition tray.
