Welcome to Florenza

Florence, the Renaissance. You lead one of the city’s great families and want to be its most famous patron of the arts. Your Kinsmen run Workshops for Marble, Wood, Metal, Gold, Spice and Textile, and hire real Artists — Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Bernini and many more — to complete Artworks in your District, the five Civic Buildings and the Cathedral.
The most Victory Points after 7 rounds wins. Nearly all of them start as Prestige:
- Artworks and the Artist’s bonus roll;
- Captain of the People — the Prestige leader banks it as tokens each round;
- Bishop and the Church Influence Track.
1–5 players (solitaire against Ghosts), 1 to 3 hours. Ready to set up? Open the setup checklist — it adapts to your player count.
The city and your District

- The main board — the Cathedral’s 8 Artworks, five Civic Buildings with 2 each, the Market and the Family Business, and four tracks: rounds, Prestige, turn order, Church Influence.
- Your District board — 8 Workshop spaces, your base income, your Chiesa and Palazzo with four Artworks each, and your own Predicatore space.
- The Life in Florenza row — Artists and Preachers in town, moving one card left each round until they leave.

A round
Each of the 7 rounds has 8 phases:
- Income — 3 Kinsmen, 200 Fiorini, Marble, Wood and a third Resource, plus your own income.
- Captain of the People may detain an Artist or Preacher.
- Bishop takes a Kinsman from each rival’s pool and gains one.
- Kinsmen — the heart of the game: place one at a time on Workshops, Artworks, Charity, the Market, the Family Business or a Captain of Fortune (Phase 4).
- Economy — Workshops act space by space; the Market and the rest whenever you like (Phase 5).
- Artworks — pay, score, roll for the Artist (Phase 6).
- Elections and the new turn order.
- Clean-up — characters age; those under card I leave.
Completing Artworks
In Phase 4 you put a Kinsman on an Artwork and pick an Artist whose skill matches. In Phase 6 you pay both: the Resources and Fiorini in the Artwork box and the Artist’s fee.
- Score the Prestige (and Church Influence) in the box, place a Family Crest, then roll for the Artist’s bonus — twice in the Cathedral, once more with the Muse.
- A gold box on his card is his Masterpiece.
- Cannot pay? You lose 1 to 3 Prestige, +1 with a named Artist (Failure).
Offices and scoring
- At the end of each round the Prestige leader becomes Captain of the People: they bank their Prestige as hidden tokens, return to 0 and play first next round.
- The Church Influence leader with 3 or more becomes Bishop and plays second; Bishop twice in a row makes you Cardinal.
- After round 7: your track, your Bishop marker’s Prestige, 1 per 200 Fiorini, +3 per office, your tokens — minus 1 per empty Workshop space and uncompleted District Artwork, and 4 more for an empty Palazzo or Chiesa (final scoring).
