Transport and Donations
Carnegie's four regional transportation tracks — costs, income per space, end bonuses — and the donation chart: costs, the 12 VP limit and all 20 donations.
Transportation tracks
Each region has a
transportation track beside its Mission area. Everyone starts on
the first space — Cart level in the West, Midwest and South, Stagecoach in the East. You move right
with R&D study points; the banners under each track mark
where
Cart,
Stagecoach and
Railroad begin.
- The number above each step is its
study point cost. - The first player to reach the last space of a track takes its one-time bonus at once (3 goods cubes or $10). Only one player’s disk may ever stand on a last space.
Transport income
When you bring employees home from a Mission area (a Take Income event), each employee pays the income under your disk on that region’s track — exactly that space, no other. Building in a small city with the income mark pays it once, too.
The four tracks
Income per space, left to right; costs are the study points to step to the next space.
| Region | Spaces 1 → 5 (income) | Step costs | Last-space bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| West | $1 · $3 · 1 goods cube · 2 VP · 2 VP | 2 · 1 · 4 · 5 | 3 goods cubes |
| Midwest | $1 · $2 · 3 study points · 2 goods cubes · 2 VP | 1 · 3 · 3 · 5 | $10 |
| East | $1 · $4 · 1 new employee · 2 VP · 2 VP | 3 · 2 · 2 · 5 | $10 |
| South | $1 · $2 · $5 · $7 · 2 VP | 1 · 3 · 3 · 5 | 3 goods cubes |
Donations
“The man who dies rich, dies disgraced.” — Andrew Carnegie
The donation chart at the top of the board has four columns of five spaces. Each space is a condition scored at the end of the game.
Making a donation
When the Timeline marker lands on
, each player in turn order may make one
donation: pay the price and put a disk from your supply on a free space.
- Your 1st donation costs $5, the 2nd $10, the 3rd $15 — and so on, $5 more each time.
- Only one disk per space (Department 15 Charitable Giving lets you join a space another player holds; the neutral disks of a 2–3 player game are not another player).
The 12 VP limit
Each donation scores at most 12 VP. Each
+3 space you reveal on a project tab raises
your limit by 3 for every donation.
Education
Four spaces: 3 VP for each Department of
that type in your Company, starting Departments included. Fifth space: 1 VP for each Department you
have, starting ones included.
Human Rights
- 4 VP per
Public Infrastructure project you built. - 3 VP per
Industry project. - 2 VP per
Housing and per
Commerce project (both count). - 3 VP per region where you reached (or passed)
Railroad. - 2 VP per donation you made, this one included.
Welfare
- 7 VP.
- Pay 1 goods cube for 2 VP, up to 6 times.
- Pay $5 for 2 VP, up to 6 times.
- Pay $5 and 1 goods cube for 4 VP, up to 3 times.
- 1 VP per standing employee in your Company.
The payments happen only during final scoring.
Health
- 2 VP per construction disk you built in the East — and one space each for the Midwest, South and West.
- 2 VP per construction disk in a small city, anywhere on the map.
[D&D] The New Donation tiles cover a printed column with five new conditions (New Donations).
