The shared board

Place the main board and sort Wood, Brick, Stone, Corn, Gold, and Priest tokens into a supply.
Sort the Building tiles by type and place each face up on a matching space, using only spaces for your player count.
Separate Trade tiles by level, shuffle each stack, then reveal three tiles from each stack.
Reveal one more Scoring tile than the number of players; return the rest to the box.
Place one Action card on the bonus space and reveal one more Action card than the number of players in the Offer.
Shuffle the Ritual cards and display three face up beside the board.

Solo opponent

Set up the shared board for two players, but use two face-up Action cards in the Offer, six cards in your hand, and a separate six-card Cocijobot deck.
Use three face-up Trade tiles per level and return the remaining Trade tiles to the box.
Choose another colour for Cocijobot and set out its player pieces as described in the solo rules.

Each player

Take your player board, Palace tile, nine Houses, five discs, and six Pyramid pieces.
Take one Wood, one Brick, and one Stone. Put one disc on 0 of the score track and another at the bottom of the Sacrifice track.
