Must the signal leave each Location on the side opposite the one it entered? Official
No. Follow the same kind of line from the station; any route along it is fine as long as the signal does not enter and leave a Location through the same side (a “V”). A signal through Russia along the white dotted lines, or one crossing the Atlantic, is legal; one starting in South Africa that drops a token in the ocean and comes back into Africa through the same side is not.

Which Action Box does a Patent go on?
The box matches the icons on the Patent side you choose: two Patent icons mean the Basic Action Box, one icon the Advanced Action Box. Some text in the first rules printing had this reversed; the icons were always right.

Does using a Patent change the bonus for being first on a Location or moving on the Permanent Links track?
No. A Patent only changes where you may put pieces; being first on a Location and moving your Permanent Link marker work as usual. (An early printing said “Credit token” here by mistake.)

Is a level 1 Tycoon one of the Location bonuses?
Yes. A Location showing the Tycoon bonus gives a level 1 Tycoon tile; the first printing left it out of the bonus list.
