City Map and Recall
Districts, Locations and tags; triggering Location effects by figures or tags; Recall Ideas and the Location and District bonuses.
The City Map

- Reputation track — your and Freud’s Reputation.
- Victory Point track — around the edge.
- Locations — six of them, each with a space for figures and a tag.
- Location effects — what a visit can trigger, up to five times.
- Location bonus slots — three per Location, claimed when you Recall.
- District bonus slots — four per District (3, 4, 5, 6 tags), claimed when you Recall.
- District tokens — a stack per District in the middle.
Districts and Locations
Three colored Districts, two Locations each. Figures (Professors and Freud) move between Locations clockwise around the loop; any number can share a Location.

Location tags

Your tags are the ones in your play area: in-play Research cards, Published Treatises, Clients
whose Grief Layer is gone, Location Goal tiles. They power Location effects, District bonuses and
the different-tags score.
is a wild tag.
Location effects
After moving your Professor or Freud to a new Location (Meeting Table actions, Dreams, tiles), you may trigger that Location’s effects. Choose one way to count how many times:
- A. Count figures — every figure there: your Professor, others’, Freud.
- B. Count tags — your tags matching that Location (don’t add figures).
Each Bright Idea you spend adds 2 more. The five
under the effects are the limit:
never more than 5. Pick any mix of the Location’s effects, resolving each before the next.
Location tag triggers
lets you trigger a tag’s Location as if a figure had moved there, counting
tags: the one on the icon plus your matching ones. Bright Ideas add 2 as usual.
When gaining Reputation moves Freud on the map, he does not trigger Location effects.
Recall Ideas
You may Recall if you have at least one Idea on the Meeting Table.
- Gain 1
Coffee per different Idea space holding your Ideas. - Return all your Ideas to your supply.
- You may claim one City Map bonus at the Location of your Professor or Freud:
A. Claim a Location bonus
Take the top District token of that Location’s District, put it on any empty bonus slot of that Location and trigger the slot.
B. Claim a District bonus
Needs a
player-color Insight. Count your tags of that District’s color
(both its Locations). Choose an empty District bonus slot whose number is no higher than your
count, put your player-color Insight on the number, cover the slot with the District’s top token
and trigger it. You may claim more than one bonus in the same District over several Recalls.
District tokens
The top token of each stack shows a
Reputation point: whoever uses it for a bonus
gains that Reputation after the slot’s effect. The “6” District slot gives a Reputation point too.
No tokens left in a District, or not enough tags: no bonus there.
