Become Freud's most distinguished contemporary
You are a member of Freud’s circle in 1900s Vienna. Treat Clients, fill your notebook, publish Treatises and build your Reputation. The most Victory Points wins, scored during play and in a big Final Scoring.

The game ends one round after Freud’s Reputation marker reaches the watch at the end of his track.
The Meeting Table and the City Map
At the Meeting Table you place Ideas — your workers — between nine action spaces: Notebook tiles, Insights, Research and Treatises, and moving on the map.

On the City Map your Professor and Freud visit six Locations in three Districts. Each visit triggers effects once per figure there or per matching tag you own, up to five times.
Insights are your currency
Your Insight dial has three qualities — Growth, Freedom, Passion — in three levels — Minor, Median, Major. Effects Generate, Elevate, Suppress or Transfer them; Dreams and many effects make you spend them.

Coffee smooths things out: 2 Coffee Elevates or Transfers, 3 buys a Bright Idea.
One of three things each turn
- State Ideas — place 1–2 Ideas, take the action they point at, then move your Inkpot by the row’s Inkpot icons and fire a row or column of your Notebook tiles.
- Recall Ideas — take your Ideas back for Coffee and claim a City Map bonus.
- Treat Clients — spend the Insights on a Client’s Dream for Therapy points.
At the end of every turn you may spend Heart-Shaped Boxes as Therapy, and you fill any empty Office Room with a new Client.
Catharsis, then the Cure
Each Client has a clear Grief Layer hiding its power. Treat it until its Therapy marker reaches Catharsis: the layer comes off and the Client’s ongoing effect or end-game scoring switches on. Keep going to the last space to Cure it and score its points.
