Loss of Control and Race End
Crash consequences, time-trial scoring and the finish line.
End of a race
The first car to cross the finish line during its turn wins. You may continue the race to determine the remaining finishing order. The core game has no victory-point track.
Solo time-trial scoring
The solo score sheet assigns seconds to each gear in which you end a turn: Gear 1 is 1:00, Gear 2 is 0:50, Gear 3 is 0:40, Gear 4 is 0:30, Gear 5 is 0:20, Gear 6 is 0:15, Gear 0 is 0:10, and Gear 00 is 0:30. Multiply each gear’s seconds by the number of turns ending there and add the results. At the end of the lap, each Focus token you kept subtracts one second. Record the resulting time.
Championship standings
A Championship consists of eight races on eight different two-lap tracks. Score 25, 18, 15, 12, 10 or 8 for first through sixth. With Team Challenge’s 12-car field, seventh through twelfth earn 6, 4, 2, 1, 0 or 0 points. The highest total wins Best Driver. Teams of equal size can also compete for Best Team by totaling every team member’s points; the Best Driver title is still awarded.
Damage and recovery
A Loss of Control resolves immediately where the threshold or track violation occurred and ends the turn. Use the dashboard’s gear/danger table for the exact result. A car spun to Gear 0 faces the wrong way and can turn around next turn. A car sent off track at Gear 00 must spend a turn returning at 0, then can race normally on the following turn. Damage tokens may reduce dice available, alter weather, or place a local yellow flag. The driving page gives the resolution sequence.
