Does a Fortune Teller card apply only to the player who drew it?
No. In the Schmidt rules, an event applies to all players unless it names a specific player or role.

After an explosion, do I still get points and shopping money?
No. You still resolve eligible chip effects and ruby rewards, but choose either the points shown at your scoring space or the shopping opportunity. Choosing points means you do not gain coins to shop with. This applies in the final round too; the final coin-to-point exchange happens after the shopping phase.

What value does locoweed count as when another effect checks its printed value? Official
It counts as printed value 1 for combination effects and overflow scoring, even when its recipe moves it a different distance. Do not substitute the number of spaces it moved.

Can a pumpkin chip be upgraded by a Fortune Teller card? Official
The CMYK-edition ingredient book prohibits pumpkin upgrades. The Schmidt 2024 rules linked in this guide use the original orange 1 pumpkin; do not assume the later orange 6 chip or its edition-specific effects are part of that edition.

Are the 20 rubies a shared limited supply?
Yes. A participant in the thread relays a designer response saying the rubies in the box are intended to be limited. When the reserve is empty, do not take a ruby that is unavailable. Because the designer's answer is relayed by a community account rather than posted by a verified designer or publisher account in the Rules forum, this entry is unmarked.

Are ingredient chips unlimited, or should chips be removed at lower player counts?
Use all supplied chips. The rules do not ask you to scale the supply by player count. The physical supply still limits a type: if that exact chip is unavailable, it cannot be taken or purchased. This forum thread includes a publisher response for the later CMYK edition; follow the same component-limit rule in the Schmidt manual.

Does a set-aside red chip consume a yellow effect that applies to the “next chip placed”?
The quoted book wording matters. If the selected yellow book says “next chip placed,” a red chip set aside without being placed does not use the effect; the next chip actually placed does. Other recipe sides phrase the trigger differently, so check the selected book.

Does an essence ability already work in round 1?
No. The Essence Phase first resolves at the end of round 1. Patient abilities marked for a later brewing phase become available in round 2.
