Game End and Scoring

Escape, accusation and surviving all eight rounds decide the winner; there are no points.

There is no points total or tie-break. The first winning condition below ends the game.

Jack escapes

Only Jack’s player may move Jack out through an unblocked land exit or onto a Steamer in a port. The Witness card must show Invisible, based on the previous round’s appeal. Jack then wins immediately.

Jack cannot escape during round one, because the Witness card starts Visible. Current visibility during the escape activation does not change the card. A move supplied by Eastman may let Jack escape; merely being swapped near an exit by Tumblety does not itself leave the board.

The Detective accuses

When activating a character, the Detective moves it onto the suspected Jack’s space and makes an accusation. Correct identity: the Detective wins immediately. Wrong identity: Jack wins immediately.

Accusations are possible in Parks and on Liberty Island. You cannot accuse with the character moved by Eastman’s power. Knowing Jack’s identity is insufficient: you must legally reach and accuse him before time runs out.

Survive round eight

If Jack has not escaped or been correctly accused by the end of round eight, Jack wins. The Detective has no ninth round to catch a known identity.
