Learn Mr. Jack in New York
Learn the game in 5 short steps. Everything links to the full rules.
Two opposing goals
The Detective wins with a correct accusation before the end of round eight. Jack wins by escaping, surviving or provoking a false accusation. Both players control the same eight people. Read Teach the Game and follow Setup.
Draft four activations
Odd rounds use Detective–Jack–Jack–Detective; even rounds reverse that order. Use the other four Character cards next round, then reshuffle all eight. Read character selection.
Understand visibility
Gaslamps and adjacent characters outside Parks reveal people. Parks and Liberty Island conceal them. At each round end, Jack reports his secret character’s status and the Detective clears the opposite group. Read visibility.
Change Manhattan
Every character moves1–3 spaces and most must use a power. New Metro entrances, lighting, construction and Parks change future moves. Eastman and Tumblety can reposition other people. Read the eight characters.
Information and escape
End a move on the Talkative Informant to gain an Alibi. A previous Invisible report permits Jack to escape this round. Otherwise the Detective needs a legal accusation before round eight ends. Read the Informant and winning.
