Your Hotel
The Hotel board of Grand Austria Hotel: café, kitchen, money track, preparing rooms, moving guests in, occupancy bonuses and the Politics cards.
The Hotel board

- Rooms — 20 room spaces in 4 rows (floors) of 5, each blue, red or yellow.
- Groups — the rooms form 10 groups of 1 to 4 rooms; the thick lines show them.
- Occupancy bonus tables — on the roof, one per colour.
- Point rooms — some spaces at the top right print points you score when you prepare them.
- Money track — your krones, from 0 to 20.
- Kitchen — dishes and drinks waiting for a guest.
- Café — 3 tables for guests waiting for their order.
The boards are printed on both sides. The front is the same for everyone — use it for your first games. The backs differ from player to player and are harder.
Money
Your money track runs from 0 to 20
krones; you start on 10. You spend money on guests,
rooms, Staff, the 6 action, virtual dice and serving from the kitchen. At the end every krone left
is 1 point. FAQ
Preparing rooms
A prepared room is a Room tile, front (free) side up, on your Hotel board. Rules:
- Your first room is the bottom-left space.
- Every other room goes orthogonally next to a room already placed — the group lines do not stop you, and rooms placed in the same action can chain.
- The tile’s colour matches the space.
- Pay the cost of its row:
| Row (floor) | Cost to prepare |
|---|---|
| 1st (bottom) | 0 |
| 2nd | 1 |
| 3rd | 2 |
| 4th (top) | 3 |
A room on a space that prints points (top right) scores them at once. Rewards can make rooms
cheaper (
) or free (
,
). FAQ
Occupying rooms
When every item of a guest’s order is on the card, the order is complete. As an additional action you may move that guest into a free room of their colour (green guests take any colour):
- Turn the room to its occupied side.
- Score the guest’s points and take their reward (in any order with the occupancy bonus).
- Put the guest card on the discard pile.
No free room of the right colour? The guest waits in the café, blocking a table. You may also leave a served guest in the café on purpose and move them later.
Some rewards turn a room to occupied without any guest (
); gray means any colour.
Occupancy bonus
When the last room of a group becomes occupied — by a guest or by a reward — you get that group’s bonus once, according to the group’s size and colour: FAQ
| Group size | Occupancy bonus by room colour |
|---|---|
| 1 room | Blue: 2 points; red: 1 krone; yellow: 1 Emperor step. |
| 2 rooms | Blue: 5 points; red: 3 krones; yellow: 3 Emperor steps. |
| 3 rooms | Blue: 9 points; red: 6 krones; yellow: 6 Emperor steps. |
| 4 rooms | Blue: 15 points; red: 10 krones; yellow: 10 Emperor steps. |
The red and yellow values are read from a small picture: check them against your Hotel board.
Politics cards
Three Politics cards are in play, one each of A, B and C (later printings call them objective cards). Each shows a goal and three point values: 15, 10 and 5. On your turn, as soon as you meet a goal, you may put one of your disks on the highest free value of that card and score it. One disk per card per player — the earliest players score most.

|---|---|
| A | Have 20 |
| A | Be on space 10 or higher of the Emperor track |
