Round End
The five steps of the Beer Pioneers round end: brewing process, retrieving pieces and the new turn order, worker upgrades with the cellar tile bonuses, hand limit and display, income.
When nobody can act any more, play these steps in order. If someone reached 20
this round,
the final scoring follows.
Step 1: Brewing process
Every dial on your board turns one step — compulsory. A dial reaching 0 puts its beer tile in the cellar (Finished beer). With the Laboratory each dial may then turn a second step, if you like.
Step 2: Retrieve pieces and turn order
Take back your tagged workers, truck and the bonus workers on the bonus board (never those sacrificed on objectives or the round end board). Return the neutral worker and truck to their spaces.
The untagged workers in the turn order area move up to the turn order track: the leftmost goes to space 1, the next to space 2, and so on; move the barrels to match. Reset your administrative worker to its starting space.
Step 3: Worker upgrade
Whoever put their upgrade marker here retires one tagged worker and takes one with one more experience from the supply (1 → 2, 2 → 3, 3 → 4); take your marker back. The new worker works from the next round.
The retired worker goes on a retirement space of your brewery board matching its experience; remove the cellar tile next to it — 1 to 3 more cellar spaces — and take that tile’s bonus.
Cellar tile bonuses
| Picture | Bonus |
|---|---|
![]() | Large tile — brewing level +1 and income +1. Apply both when the matching worker reaches this retirement space at round end. |
![]() | Medium tile — 1 step of brewery progress, or play 1 card from your hand as beige-brown. Choose one when the matching worker retires at round end. FAQ |
![]() | Medium tile — take 1 barrel and move 2 barrels to the cellar, or remove 1 blocking token. Choose one when the matching worker retires at round end. FAQ |
![]() | Small tile — a beer tile of your choice into the cellar, or brewing level +1. Choose one when the matching worker retires at round end. |
Step 4: Hand limit and display
- 4a: discard down to 3 hand cards (6 once your progress cube has passed the hand-limit space).
- 4b: discard the leftmost display card, slide the others left and turn up a new card on the right.
Step 5: Income
Take 0, 1 or 2
as your income disc shows.
