Game End and Scoring
When Istanbul ends — 5 Rubies, or 6 with 2 players or any expansion — how the round is finished and how ties are broken.
Where Rubies come from
| Source | How |
|---|---|
| Wainwright | Your 3rd Wheelbarrow extension (once) |
| Sultan’s Palace | Deliver the goods shown |
| Gemstone Dealer | Pay Lira, 12 and up |
| Mosques | Both tiles of one Mosque (once per Mosque) |
| [Mocha] Coffee House and Tavern | Coffee; coffee plus the Baksheesh goods |
| [Letters] Secret Society | Letters worth 6 Seals |
Rubies go on the Ruby spaces of your Wheelbarrow.
End of the game
The first player with 5 Rubies — 6 with 2 players, and 6 whenever an expansion is used — triggers the end. Finish the current round, so everyone has had the same number of turns. Then each player may still play Bonus cards that give goods or money (it can matter for ties).
Tie-breakers
Most Rubies wins. Ties go, in order, to:
- most Lira left;
- most goods left on the Wheelbarrow (coffee and Letters do not count);
- most Bonus cards left.
Still tied: shared victory.
