Indonesia at a glance — the year's phases, goods values, R&D tracks, the companies of each era, cities, map symbols and components.
A year at a glance
| Phase | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. New era | Only if the era’s companies are used up (or all one type): everyone builds a city; old deeds out, new deeds in. The game ends here when era C ends. |
| 2. Bid for turn order | One bid each × your Bid research; money to your Bank. Ties keep their order. |
| 3. Mergers | Rounds: announce one merger (Mergers 2+), auction it, pay the old owners. |
| 4. Acquisitions | Rounds: take one free company if you have a slot, or pass for the phase. |
| 5. Research | One step on one of your tracks — or on another player’s Hull. |
| 6. Operations | Rounds: operate one company. Ships expand; plantations sell, earn, expand. |
| 7. City growth | Cities that got every good grow one size; clear all delivered goods. |

New cities are always size 1, on an empty coastal land area, one per province. A city grows one size a year at most. → City growth
Map symbols
Each province shows, for eras A, B and C, what it will offer: a city (the hut), a crop or a shipping line. Use them to plan where to expand before the next era arrives.
