More Containers
Allplay's expansion: three modules — Luxury Containers, Truck Companies and Player Loans — that you can add one at a time.
Short tag: [More] — every base-game line that this expansion changes carries it.
What it adds

More Containers (Allplay, 2025) needs the Container base game. It holds three independent modules; add any one, two or all three:
- Luxury Containers — gold containers you trade up to, worth more at the Bank.
- Truck Companies — a $1 fee on every
Factory Purchase, and companies to buy at the
Off-Shore Bank that collect it. - Player Loans — players lend to each other instead of the Bank.
The box back shows the gold containers, the trucks, a
trucking board and the player
loan cards. Use the side of the player aid with a star in its
bottom-left corner when you play with the expansion.
Setup changes
Add these to the normal setup:
- Luxury Containers — use the lower normal-container counts below and add the gold containers.
- Truck Companies — put the Truck Company bid tile and its auction token next to the Off-Shore Bank. Each player puts a trucking board beside their player board and takes three trucks.
- Player
Loans — each player takes their player
loan cards (three).
Normal containers of each colour with Luxury Containers:
| Players | Gold containers | Short | Standard | Extended |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 8 | 8 | 9 | 11 |
| 4 | 9 | 9 | 11 | 14 |
| 5 | 10 | 10 | 13 | 17 |
Luxury Containers
- Trading up. Once per turn, at any time during your turn, return two containers from one district of your board to the supply and take one gold container from the supply. It needs no action, so you can do it after your second action too.
- Bidding at the Bank. When you bid containers in a Bank auction, each gold container counts as 1.5 normal containers. Four gold (6) beat five normal (5).
- The game end still holds. If your
Produce empties a second colour, the game ends at the end of
your turn; a gold trade that puts containers of that colour back in the supply does not undo it. - Scoring. Gold containers have their own value at final scoring, printed in the expansion booklet.
Truck Companies
Every player board has a Truck Company beside it. At the start each one is independent.
- The trucking fee. Each time you make a Factory Purchase, pay $1 to the Truck Company beside your own board. If it is independent, the dollar stays next to it and piles up. If an opponent owns it, the dollar goes to that player. If you own it, you pay nothing.
- Buying a company. A Call Bank action may start an auction for any
independent company: put the Truck Company auction token on it and your opening bid (
cash or
containers) on the Truck Company bid tile. Only one Truck Company auction can be open at a time,
on top of the normal number of Bank lot auctions — so five players can have a
cash lot, a container
lot and a company auction running together. All other Bank auction rules
apply. - Winning. Pay your bid to the Off-Shore Bank as usual, take any
cash piled next to the company and
put one of your trucks on it. A company that has an owner never changes hands. With three trucks you
can own at most three companies.
Player Loans
- Asking for a
loan. When you request a loan, any opponent with at least $10 in
hand may offer you one, in no particular order. If several want to lend, they compete in an incentive
auction (procedure in the booklet). - No Bank fallback. If at least one opponent offers, you cannot take a Bank
loan this turn — you
accept a player
loan or take none. You go to the Bank only if nobody offers. - Limits. You may still hold only two
loans in total. A lender has three
loan cards, so at most
three
loans out at once; with all three lent, they can’t offer again until one is repaid. - Interest and repayment. Interest and repayments on a player
loan go to the lender, not the Bank. - At the end. A player
loan still open at final scoring is repaid with $1 interest to the lender,
after your containers have been scored. What you can’t pay, the lender takes from the supply — and
the shortfall still comes off your own total, so an open player
loan costs you $11 like a Bank
loan.
Official clarifications
Allplay’s Official Rules Clarifications & Errata (last updated 11 August 2026) rules on two expansion points:
- Player
loan limit — three active
loans to opponents at once, one per
loan card. - Luxury Containers setup — 17 normal containers of each colour in a five-player extended game.
It also says Truck Companies have no official rules without the Off-Shore Bank (house rule above). More questions with answers are in the FAQ.
