Cards & Components

Every Container component with its picture and what it does: boards, ships, buildings, containers, cash, bluff, loan and scoring cards, the Off-Shore Bank pieces and the More Containers additions.

Boards

ComponentWhat it is
A player boardPlayer boards (5) — factory district at the bottom, harbor district at the top, each with a building track, priced storage lots and a storage limit. If you have no cash, containers or loan slots left, you can still take legal actions that cost nothing (FAQ). Factory and harbor districts
Container Island and the Off-Shore BankContainer Island (2 pieces) — one scoring area per player, where delivered containers wait for final scoring. Off-Shore Bank (2 pieces) — three container lots and three cash lots that are auctioned back to the players. The islands
A player aidPlayer aids (5) — the turn and actions at a glance. You may not pass or skip an action; take a legal action instead (FAQ). The side with a star in its bottom-left corner is for the More Containers expansion.

Cards

CardWhat it does
$1 cash cardCash cards (141 in all: $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20) — money is your score. Keep it secret in your hand; make change with the supply whenever you like. Players cannot give each other money or make side deals (FAQ). You start with $20: five $1s, five $2s and one $5.
$2 cash card$2
$5 cash card$5
$10 cash card$10
$20 cash card$20
$0 bluff card$0 bluff card $0 bluff cards (10, two per player) — mix them into a delivery-auction bid so opponents cannot infer its value from its card count; these cards add no money (FAQ). If everyone bids $0, tied bidders run off; if they tie again, the seller chooses the winner or buys out (FAQ). Bluffing
Bank loan cardBank loan card Bank loan cards (10) — each is a $10 loan from the supply; at most two per player. Interest is due at the start of your turns, but a loan taken mid-turn first accrues interest on your next turn (FAQ). You may take a Bank loan during another player’s delivery auction (FAQ). You cannot repay from your own auction proceeds, because your turn ends before you can repay; earliest is your next turn, after interest (FAQ). An open loan deducts $11 at game end (FAQ). Loans

Final scoring cards

Five different cards, one dealt secretly to each player. The rows below give the colours in printed order: $10; $10/$5; $6; $4; $2. Before scoring Container Island, discard every container of your most common colour. If tied, choose the colour to discard, except that the two-value colour must be discarded whenever it is among the tied colours. The two-value colour pays $10 only if you collected all five colours before this discard; otherwise it pays $5. Final scoring.

Tokens & pieces

Pieces

ComponentWhat it is
The five shipsShips (5) — carry up to five containers from opponents’ harbors to Container Island; your ship never enters your own harbor. If already docked at the Bank when you win containers, load them then; you do not have to take every container from the holding area (FAQ, FAQ). Sail
FactoriesFactories (20, 4 of each colour) — each makes one container of its colour when you Produce. You may own at most four, in different colours; you cannot build a second Factory of a colour you already have (FAQ). Factory buildings
WarehousesWarehouses (20) — each raises your harbor storage limit by one; up to five per player. Warehouse buildings
Auction tokenBank auction tokens (2) — mark the Bank lot being auctioned; how many you use sets how many Bank auctions can run at once (1 / 1 / 2 at 3 / 4 / 5 players). Cash lots refill from interest, buyouts and bids; container lots refill from bids and defaults (FAQ). How many auctions at once
Cash bid tileCash bid tile — holds the cash bid for one of the Bank’s container lots. Opponents place hidden bids, then reveal together; turn order does not determine who bids first (FAQ). Bidding cash for containers
Container bid tileContainer bid tile — holds the containers bid for one of the Bank’s cash lots. Spread a payment one dollar or container at a time, starting at lot I and moving left to right; skip lots with an auction token (FAQ). Committed containers stay on the tile until you win or are outbid, and still count against their district’s storage limit (FAQ). Bidding containers for cash
Reserve tokenReserve tokens (10) — fill the storage spots of containers you have put on the container bid tile, so they still count against your limit; the committed containers cannot be sold, repriced or seized until the auction resolves (FAQ). Reserve tokens and storage

Containers

100 containers, 20 of each colour; how many you put in the supply depends on the player count and game length (setup). The game ends when two colours run out (Game end).

More Containers

[More] The expansion’s pieces, from its box back and rules. Their use is on the More Containers page.

ComponentWhat it does
The More Containers boxGold luxury containers (8 / 9 / 10 at 3 / 4 / 5 players) — trade two containers from one district for one, once per turn, even after your second action; each counts as 1.5 containers in a Bank bid (four count as six) (FAQ, FAQ). Trading containers back into a sold-out colour does not undo the end trigger (FAQ). Luxury Containers
Trucking boards (one beside each player board) — each is a Truck Company that collects a $1 fee on every Factory Purchase by its player; the buyer pays that fee to the company owner, and pays nothing if they own that company (FAQ). Truck Companies
Trucks (3 per player) — mark the companies you own; at most three, and a company never changes hands once owned (FAQ).
Truck Company bid tile and auction token — run the one Truck Company auction at the Off-Shore Bank, in addition to the normal Bank auctions (FAQ). The auction starter names the specific company whose token is used (FAQ). No official rules use these in the Classic variant without the Bank (FAQ).
Player loan cards (3 per player) — lend money to opponents; you can have up to three loans outstanding, one per card (FAQ). Offers may come in any order; if anyone offers when a player requests a loan, they cannot instead take one from the Bank (FAQ, FAQ). At game end, the borrower repays the lender after container scoring; any shortfall is deducted from their final total (FAQ). Player Loans
