Tips & Strategy
Practical pointers for planning shared actions and scoring majorities.
Plan around the next Scoring tile
The Council order is visible from the start. Put cubes in the areas that are coming up soon, but keep some flexibility: actions from workers already on the board may reactivate later.
Value both sides of a placement
Each City Grid space connects two actions. Choose a placement that makes both useful, when possible. A Contractor doubles both actions, while a Family Member can be reactivated by later placements.
Keep your engine balanced
Build workshops before you need larger cloth deliveries. Ships and Trade Houses convert that cloth into city majorities; resource cubes instead support construction, church contributions and statues.
Learn the two-player mode separately
Hirelings change the action timing, area majorities and scoring. Explain their neutral cubes before the first Hireling stack activates. The two-player rules describe each case.
Add Intrigue after a base game
[Intrigue] The module adds another choice each turn and gives each player a family power. Try it after the group is comfortable with the base actions and area scoring.
