Inn

Brew beer and recruit one-use character powers.

Short tag: [Inn].

Setup changes

Add the Inn board; agree its side. The reverse changes the Inn’s recurring first-step cost from one time to one influence. Add four Inn customers and the beer supply. Each human starts with one beer. Shuffle 30 characters into three face-up stacks of ten and use the proper Inn/player-count setup card.

Brewery

Use a Crafts action. Produce two beer by either spending three grain, or using a trained brewer and spending three time. Training a brewer costs three additional time when the villager first enters.

Inn action

You need a villager at the Inn. If you have none, place one from the farm for one time. Then:

  1. Pay one time, or one influence if using the alternate side.
  2. Move the top card of one stack face up underneath that same stack.
  3. Optionally buy one of the three now-visible top cards for its printed price: one coin, one beer or two beer. If you do not buy, steps 1 and 2 still happen.

A villager who dies at the Inn goes directly to the graveyard. You may not look through the character stacks; only their top cards are visible. Card effects apply to the card’s owner, never to the other players.

Keep the card in hand. Full-inkwell cards are one-use powers with their stated timing; play them and remove them from the game. Empty-inkwell cards stay in hand until final scoring.

Combinations

[Port] Replace Count, Traveller, Messenger and Toll Collector with Admiral, Helmsman, Quartermaster and Cartographer before shuffling (Port). [Marriage] Add its three characters and make three stacks of eleven (Marriage).

Scoring

Apply each held endgame character’s own condition. Character effects do not erase ordinary action costs or timing unless their text says so. Individual character entries are Cards & Components.
