When do we deal the starting plants and set the opening turn order? Official
Deal starting plants before stacking the Tea markers to set the opening order. The first player takes one plant, the second takes two and the others take three. The publisher's correction to rulebook page 6 says to swap the printed setup steps; it does not explain how to choose the preliminary dealing order. Publisher confirmed on the Skellig Games product page.
What does the English rulebook mean by “Std.” on page 17? Official
Read it as hours. The publisher notes that the English rulebook should use “hrs.” Publisher confirmed on the Skellig Games product page.
Which journeyman count is used for the endgame reward table? Official
Count trained Journeymen, not Apprentices. The publisher says the page 23 English table heading should read “Number of Journeymen.” Untrained Apprentices do not score that set bonus. Publisher confirmed on the Skellig Games product page.
Can I produce a medicine if only one of its required skills meets the minimum?
No. Botany and the medicine-specific skill must both meet the minimum level. Tinctures may use mushrooms to raise a skill temporarily, at one RP per mushroom. See medicine production.
How many mushrooms are needed to raise tincture quality?
The English rulebook’s prose and worked example do not agree for every case. Its example with Botany 4, Filtering 3 and a required level 5 spends three mushrooms; the prose describes paying for each point of skill difference. A BGG rules thread asks about the discrepancy but has no designer or publisher ruling. The example supports that one case only; other combinations remain unclear. See the rulebook’s tincture example and the unresolved BGG thread.
Can a patient be treated after its 24-hour deadline?
No. If the deadline passes before treatment, discard the patient and lose 1 RP. You may also voluntarily decline an untreated patient, with the same 1 RP loss. See patient deadlines.
Does Melanie use the two-experiment-per-day limit?
No. If all areas on the revealed Solo card fail, Melanie experiments; this solo fallback is not limited by the shared daily experiment markers. See Melanie’s turn.
