Learn Tag Team
Learn the game in 5 short steps. Everything links to the full rules.
Choose a team
Pick two Fighters. For the first game, the publisher suggests Joan and Ching Shih against Bödvar and Wong Fei-Hung. After the first match, agree on teams or use the Standard or Competitive Draft in Team Building.
Set up your Fighters
Put each Fighter board in front of its player. Add the starting Health and
Power markers shown on the boards, then follow the Fighters’ Guide for any special tracks and tokens. Set aside each Fighter’s star-marked Starting Card.
Build your decks
Choose the order of your two Starting Cards and place them face down as your Fight Deck. Shuffle the other nine cards from each Fighter together as your 18-card Build Deck. The Fight Deck starts small and never gets shuffled.
Fight a Turn
Reveal the top card of each Fight Deck at the same time. Each card’s Fighter is active this Turn; its teammate is the
Partner. Resolve the actions together. All listed actions are mandatory, and some cards have timing or targeting rules of their own.
Build the next Round
When both Fight Decks run out and nobody has been knocked out, draw three cards from your Build Deck. Choose one and secretly insert it anywhere in your Fight Deck without changing the order of existing cards. Return the other two to the bottom of your Build Deck; then start another Round.
