Learn Speakeasy
Learn the game in 5 short steps. Everything links to the full rules.
Make the most money
You are a mob boss in Prohibition Manhattan, 1920 to 1933. Over four Acts you open Speakeasies, Nightclubs and Casinos, move liquor to them and sell it, and keep the Cops and rival Mobsters at bay. Whoever ends with the most money — cash, safe and end-game pay — wins.
Set up with the setup steps for your player count, then read Teach the Game.
The Golden Rule
A building only works if it is Operating: no Cop in its district, or a Family Member protecting it. A building that is not Operating counts as if it were not there — no barrels, no district control, no points. Send Family Members from your VIP area to protect buildings at City Hall, paying Leverage. See Operating buildings.
Produce, deliver, sell
Make barrels at your Operating Stills or buy them from Rum-runner Ships, carry them with your Trucks to your Operating buildings (one barrel each), then sell them for cash. Your Operations tracks set how much you produce, sell and how far you drive; your Infamy sets the price. See Common actions and Garage.
One Capo, one person
Each turn you send one Capo to a free Person of Interest at one of eight locations and do their actions, then draw an Operations card. You have 4, 3, 3 and 1 Capos in the four Acts. See Locations.
Survive Luciano's reckoning
After Acts 1–3, new Mobsters attack the marked districts (defend each building with Strength, Goons and your Associate), Cops move in, and Luciano pays your safe for the districts you control in each Zone. Cook your Books on goals for more safe money. See Lucky Luciano Phase and Goals and Final Scoring.
