Spades — King’s Messengers

Move messengers to earn resources, invite characters or acquire stronger cards.

Messenger action

Move a messenger the number of spaces shown by its path. A one-space move gains the indicated colour resource. A two-space move gains two colour resources. A three-space move gains two colour resources and Tea. Take only the reward at the landing space. Then either acquire a card from the market or invite a character, as allowed by that space.

When an invitation seal is present, take the large reward on the first visit and the small reward on later visits. The centre-zone Alice requires at least one invitation. Reaching its mini-action or the path-end crown grants the corresponding milestone.

Mini-action

The free messenger mini-action lets you take all the rewards from one messenger landing of either colour. Apply its normal invitation/card choice.
