Get ready for the coronation
Set out the central board and four colour action boards. Your courtier board tracks Time, resources and cards. Put Alice on the two start spaces, build the Wish and crown display, and prepare the chessboard. See the shared setup.
Use two cards each turn
Discard one card for its reward, then play a different card to move the matching chess piece and resolve its colour action. Rest to refill to three cards and reset the per-turn Bookmark effects. Read the turn sequence.
Choose a colour engine
Hearts grow flowers, Spades invite characters or acquire cards, Clubs move the Twins and buy Bookmarks, and Diamonds build walls. Each board advances Alice and has its own mini-action and crown milestone. Compare the four boards.
Race the Alice tracks
A Wish scores for everyone when Alice reaches its space. Action-board crowns are earned separately. Choose Wishes on your Cat tracks, then use the final Alice position to determine their end-game side. See Alice and crown scoring.
Score the court
When the last crown is removed, finish the round. Score your selected Wishes, invited characters, Bookmark and flower bonuses, and crowns. See end-game scoring.
