Game End and Scoring
One-time potion achievements, the final round, points and the explosion tie-break.
Skill tokens
At the end of your turn, claim a
Skill token when you first reach either achievement:
- Three completed potions of one kind: once for each kind, never another token for six of that kind.
- Five different completed kinds: once overall, never another token for a second diverse set.
Potions are not spent. One potion may count for both a matching-kind achievement and the diverse achievement. Drunk potions still count. For example, A–A–A–B–C–D–E earns two tokens: one for three As, one for five different kinds.
Take tokens from the countdown stack first, then the general reserve if it has emptied. Every Skill token is worth 4 points, including ones earned after the finish was triggered.
[Sixth] In five- or six-player games, completing your tenth potion earns one further achievement.
The final round
The game end triggers at the end of a turn when the countdown stack is empty or no more potion tiles are available to draw. The countdown starts with 4 / 5 / 6 tokens for 2 / 3 / 4 players.
Finish the current round, stopping after the player immediately before the first player. Everyone has played the same number of turns. If that last player triggers the end, the game ends on that turn; do not play another full round.
[Sixth] Five and six players use 7 and 8 countdown tokens, respectively.
Final score
| Item | Score |
|---|---|
| Completed potions | Add each printed value, drunk or unused. |
| Skill tokens | Add 4 per token. |
| Little Help | Subtract 2 per token. |
| [Fifth] Reward / Scolding tokens | Add 1 / subtract 1 per token; expansion details. |
Unfinished recipes and leftover ingredients provide no points. There is no bonus for keeping a completed potion unused.
Tie-break
Tied players, beginning with the first player and following turn order, each make one marble pick and resolve its explosions. The player who collects the most marbles wins the tie. Unused completed potions may also be drunk to increase that collection. The rulebook does not specify a second tie-break if this collection is tied again.
