Tips & Strategy
Build scoring opportunities while keeping flexible access to vegetables.
How to teach it
Teach the two draft choices first, then explain that every vegetable counts against every scoring card you own. Show that a scoring card can be flipped into a vegetable once per turn, but never turned back.
Your first game
Look for conditions you can satisfy with vegetables already in your tableau, while watching what your opponents collect for majority cards. Do not keep a scoring card just because it looks valuable: flipping it is an available way to take a needed vegetable.
Practical advice
- Reuse your vegetables across scoring cards; they are counted independently.
- Majority cards are relative to the whole table, so notice opponents’ visible collections; designers generally require at least one matching vegetable for a “most” card.
- The designer’s FAQ says zero of a vegetable can satisfy a “fewest” card, while an even/odd condition needs at least one of the named vegetable.
- The official rulebook examples are the reference for scoring arithmetic; a tested digital mod showed conflicting values and is not a reliable guide.
The Board Game Empire teach and playthrough and Dicebreaker playthrough also illustrate the two draft choices and how cards combine during end scoring. Use them as table demonstrations; the rulebook governs unclear card wording.
