Drafting & Scoring

Choose between collecting vegetables and collecting scoring conditions.

Take cards

Take one scoring card from the top of any of the three piles, or take two vegetable cards from the shared market. If only one market vegetable remains, take that single card. Add the draft to your face-up tableau.

Flip a scoring card

Once per turn, you may flip one scoring card in your tableau to its vegetable side. You may flip a card taken this turn or earlier. This is a free optional action, but a vegetable cannot be turned back into a scoring card.

Refill the market

After drafting, fill empty market spaces from the scoring pile directly above each column, turning those cards vegetable side up. If a pile empties, split the largest remaining pile roughly in half and move its bottom half to replace the empty pile; keep the top card of the larger pile in place. When several piles empty together, the designer says to keep three piles in play by dividing the largest pile between the empty positions.

Count your salad

At the end, evaluate each scoring card you own against your complete vegetable collection. Vegetables are not spent when counted, so one card can contribute to several conditions. For example, five carrots on a card worth 2 points per pair score 4 points; the fifth carrot does not form another pair.
