The salad and the score

Point Salad is a quick card-drafting game for 2–6 players. You collect vegetables and scoring conditions; each player’s own scoring cards award points for patterns in their own vegetables. The rulebook includes 108 double-sided cards with six vegetable types and 108 unique scoring conditions.

Set up the market

Use the player-count setup table to set aside unused cards without seeing their scoring faces. Shuffle the rest and divide it into three roughly equal piles, scoring side up. Flip two cards from each pile vegetable side up to make the six-card market, then choose a starting player.

Choose your draft

On your turn take one scoring card from any pile or up to two vegetables from the market. Add your cards face up to your tableau. Once per turn, you may flip one of your scoring cards into its vegetable side; it cannot be flipped back.

Refill and keep drafting

Refill empty market spaces from the pile above each column, turning new cards vegetable side up. When a scoring pile empties, split the largest pile to restore three piles when possible. Keep collecting combinations that work across several scoring cards.

Count every scoring card

When all cards are drafted, score each scoring card you own using your full vegetable collection. Reuse vegetables across cards. A “most” card compares your amount with every opponent; a tie for most scores. The highest total wins, with the later player in turn order winning a tie.
