Scoring and Game End
Resolve the scheduled scoring phases and compare final money.
When scoring happens
There are three scorings: first, second and end game. A scoring starts only after the turn-order phase when every player’s time disc has reached or passed its next scoring icon. If the group has not reached it yet, start another year. Each scoring tile is used once.
First scoring
Evaluate the top half of the first tile. It awards each player for meeting its own criterion, which may reward each matching piece or icon. With the introductory tile, count market icons on zone A contracts only, then multiply each market type by its current income. After the tile, players may use specialist scoring cards; turn any income markers flipped by those cards face up when scoring is complete.
Second scoring
Evaluate the bottom half of the second tile. This is a single majority award: compare the number of times each player meets the criterion and give the reward to the unique leader. A tie means no one receives that majority reward. The introductory tile instead awards income to the leader for each of the five market-icon types. Then play specialist scoring cards and refresh flipped income markers.
End-game scoring
When all time discs reach the end, evaluate both halves of both end-game tiles, top tile first. The upper halves score each player; the lower halves are majority awards with ties unawarded. Then:
- Play any remaining specialist scoring cards.
- Resolve end-game tower bonus tiles.
- Resolve any Investor Tendency cards used with Clear Skies.
- Pay $30 per venture capital tile (a Clear Skies company effect may alter this).
- The player with the most money wins.
Time discs stop at the last space, even when an effect would move them farther. Solar contract tiles are excluded from the base-game $3-per-contract first-scoring bonus.
Scoring tile rules
The reference book gives individual tile effects. Each scoring tile shows what to count and the reward; majority tiles award only a unique leader. A player may keep a specialist scoring card for a later scoring rather than use it as soon as it is gained. Once played, it is discarded.
