Nature

The Nature expansion’s Nature Reserve and Cardal Transmission modules.

Nature contains two modules that may be used separately or together. Both add player action cards and specialist cards; each has its own setup.

Nature Reserve

Give each player the Nature Reserve action card and income marker. Shuffle the Nature connection tile into the zone A connection tiles before placing those tiles. Place the reserve pieces beside the board and add the Nature specialist action and scoring cards to their matching decks.

To use the Nature Reserve action, you need your wind farm and a transformer on a remote contract in the same sector. Play the card in a company-mat space matching that zone and pay its normal space cost. Place a reserve piece by that transformer or wind farm. On your first reserve, place the extra Nature income marker on the remote income track at $1; later reserves advance it one step. You may then pay 2 energy or 1 battery to move it up to two additional steps. The Nature and remote income markers cannot share a space, so skip the occupied spot while moving either marker. Collect both during Consolidation. The Nature specialist card and Nature connection tile can advance this marker; the Nature scoring card pays $3 for each of your reserve pieces near your transformers or wind farms.

Cardal Transmission Project

Give each player the Electrical Pole action card and player aid, place the poles beside the board, and add the two Cardal specialist cards to their respective decks.

The Electrical Pole action connects transformers on the same printed connection line. At least one transformer of any color must be on that line. Play the card in a company-mat space matching the higher zone of the transformers you choose to connect. You may pay the action cost with batteries: 1 for A–A, 2 for B–B, or 3 for B–C/C. Place a pole beside a transformer and gain $2 per level of that transformer; if the other transformer on that line is available, you may place a second pole on that same line and score it too. The regular card costs by the zone; its specialist version costs 2 batteries. During scoring, the Cardal scoring card pays $3 for each of your transformers next to a pole.
