The Great Exhibition
The Great Exhibition expansion for Ada’s Dream: Exhibitor cards and Visitor tokens that add options to Workshop turns.
Short tag: [Exhibition]
In 1851 Prince Albert’s Great Exhibition filled the Crystal Palace in Hyde Park. Pay the entry fee to visit an exhibit and unlock a strong bonus on your Workshop turns.
Components

![]() | Great Exhibition board — Prince Albert printed on the left, four Exhibitor card spaces, and five Visitor spaces with bonuses below. |
![]() | 12 Exhibitor cards — cost (£) top left, effect below. Every face is in Cards & Components. Activation does not replace the card (FAQ). |
![]() | 4 Visitor tokens — green, yellow, purple and blue. A bonus is gained only when a grey die moves a token onto an empty Visitor space; an activated Exhibitor moves it without the bonus (FAQ). |
Setup

- Put the Great Exhibition board next to the main board.
- Shuffle the Exhibitor cards, deal one into each of the 4 card spaces and put the rest in a face-down stack beside the board. Prince Albert, printed in the leftmost space, is not a card space: he is always there.
- Put the 4 Visitor tokens at random on the Visitor spaces below the four card spaces. The space below Prince Albert starts empty.
Gameplay
The expansion changes step 6 of every Workshop turn: you may still play one Partner card, and also:
- With a coloured die (purple, blue, green or yellow), before or after your Partner card you may activate one Exhibitor: the one above the Visitor token of your die’s colour. Pay its cost in £ and resolve its effect. Prince Albert counts as an Exhibitor with no cost: take £6. Then move that Visitor token to the empty Visitor space — without gaining that space’s bonus.
- With a grey die you may instead move any one Visitor token to the empty Visitor space and gain that space’s bonus. You may not activate an Exhibitor.
Exhibitor cards stay where they are; the face-down stack is used only by Joseph Paxton.
