Welcome to 18 India

India’s railway boom. You are investors: buy shares in railway Companies, run the ones you control, and pay yourselves dividends. 2–5 players, about three hours.
The richest player at the end — cash plus share value — wins. Set up the game.
The map and the market

The map holds the hexes where Companies lay track, the IPO rows, the Stock Market and the concession display; the market board holds the trains and the Open Market. Every numbered part is explained in Teach the Game.
Your hand of certificates
At the start everyone is dealt certificates, keeps some and drafts the rest, Directors’ Certificates included. Your hand is a set of secret options: only you may buy those certificates, whenever you like. Certificate Distribution.
Stock and Operating Rounds
Stock Round: one selling turn each, then buy one item per turn until everyone passes. Two Operating Rounds: each floated Company lays track, places a station, runs its trains and pays or withholds — highest share price first. Trains never rust. Stock Round · Operating Round.
The end
The game ends after the Operating Round in which a share hits ₹400, or after the set of Operating Rounds in which the bank breaks. Each share is worth its price plus 10% of its Company’s assets. Game End and Scoring.
