Cards & Components
The eight terrain boards, Troop tile faces, medal markers, and medal-track promo for Toy Battle.
Pictures of the eight base terrains and all 16 color-specific Troop faces come from a Tabletop Simulator mod (Workshop item 3460851935), checked against the publisher’s English rules and player aid. The La Croisette overview and Medals Track promo faces come from their official English rules.
Boards
| Picture | Description |
|---|---|
![]() | Castle Field. The first-game terrain. Its special bases return one of your other visible Troops on the terrain to your rack; do not return the Troop just placed. The medal target is 5. |
![]() | City of Clouds. Its special bases let you draw one Troop from your reserve to your rack. You cannot apply the effect if the draw would exceed the eight-Troop rack limit. |
![]() | Volcanic Jungle. Its special bases move one adjacent enemy Troop to a base adjacent to its starting base, ignoring the normal placement restrictions. |
![]() | Cursed Cemetery. Its special bases return one of your discarded Troops to your rack. |
![]() | Caribbean Sea. This terrain has no special bases and an asymmetric HQ layout. |
![]() | Battlefield. Its special bases let you point to one Troop on the opponent’s rack without looking. That Troop is laid face down and unavailable for their next turn, then returned; it still counts toward the rack limit. |
![]() | Tropical Pool. Its marked special bases and HQs accept only the Troop values indicated on the terrain. Check this restriction before placing, including when using Hook. |
![]() | Station Metal-X. Troop abilities do not resolve on its marked special bases. |
![]() | La Croisette expansion. A ninth terrain with two restricted special bases. The official rules show this board in a small angled overview, so individual base details are hard to read here; see the expansion guide and its FAQ. |
Cards
Toy Battle has no cards. Its army pieces are double-sided Troop tiles.
Tiles
Each Troop type appears three times in each player’s 24-tile set. Enemy Troops can only be covered by a stronger Troop; you may cover your own Troops at any strength. Resolve the new Troop’s ability before any special-base effect.
| Picture | Description |
|---|---|
![]() | Kwak, joker. May cover an opposing Troop of any strength, but an opposing Troop of any strength may cover it. It has no additional ability. |
![]() | Roxy, strength 7. Highest numbered Troop; no additional ability. |
![]() | Jumbo, strength 3. Discard one adjacent, visible enemy Troop. A stacked Troop underneath remains on its base. FAQ. |
![]() | Hook, strength 4. Ignores the connection requirement when placed on a base. Hook still needs a connected path to capture the opponent’s HQ. |
![]() | XB-42, strength 5. The opponent discards one random Troop from their rack. They may rearrange their rack at any time before you choose. FAQ. |
![]() | Cap’N, strength 2. You may place one additional Troop and apply its ability. Resolve abilities of both Troops before any special-base effects. |
![]() | Star, strength 6. Draw one Troop from your reserve to your rack, up to the eight-Troop limit. |
![]() | Skully, strength 1. Draw up to two Troops from your reserve. With seven Troops already on your rack, draw one; at eight, skip the effect. |
Tokens & pieces
| Picture | Description |
|---|---|
![]() | Medal markers. Claim these by occupying every base around a region. Keep a claimed medal even if that region later opens. |
![]() | Medals Track promo: target 5. Join the matching tabs, orient your color toward you, and place a marker in the nearest open space each time you gain medals. The first marker in the center wins. FAQ. |
![]() | Medals Track promo: target 6. Two double-sided tabs form this target’s track. |
![]() | Medals Track promo: target 7. Two double-sided tabs form this target’s track. |
![]() | Medals Track promo: target 8. Two double-sided tabs form this target’s track. |
Icons
| Picture | Description |
|---|---|
![]() | Remove icon. Discard one adjacent visible enemy Troop when Jumbo is placed. |
![]() | Hook icon. Ignore the connection rule for a base placement; it does not allow an unconnected HQ capture. |
![]() | Random discard icon. The opponent loses one randomly selected Troop from their rack. |
![]() | Extra placement icon. You may place an additional Troop after Cap’N. |
![]() | Draw one icon. Draw a Troop from your reserve, up to the rack limit. |
![]() | Draw two icon. Draw up to two Troops, stopping at the rack limit. |
