Learn Toy Battle
Learn the game in 5 short steps. Everything links to the full rules.
Pick the battlefield
Choose one of the eight terrains and place the medal markers on its printed spaces. For a first game, start with Castle Field and learn the ordinary path rules before trying its special bases.
Prepare the racks
Each player shuffles 24 Troops face down and removes four unseen. The first player draws three Troops; the second draws four. Racks hold no more than eight Troops.
Connect your army
Show how a continuous route through bases topped by your Troops connects back to your HQ. Empty or enemy-topped bases break the route; Hook can bypass it for a base but not for an HQ capture.
Use Troop powers
Resolve a placed Troop’s ability first, then a special-base effect. Explain visible Troops as the pieces at the top of their stacks, and check that any draw keeps the rack within its eight-Troop limit.
Take medals to win
When all bases around a region are yours, take its medals and keep them permanently. An HQ capture or reaching the terrain’s medal target wins immediately; if a player cannot draw or place, compare medals instead.
