Which rules version is this guide based on?
The guide uses Eagle-Gryphon Games' current English core rules v15.1c and solo rules v07b, downloaded from the publisher-linked folder on 2026-10-24. Later production rules may change because the publisher currently lists the game as a preorder. See the source list.
Is the Upgrade Pack a gameplay expansion?
The publisher describes it as metal and wooden replacement components. It is a component upgrade, not a gameplay module. The current BGG listing shows no expansions; solo is included as a base-game mode. See Cards and Components.
What triggers the end of the game?
The second Event or a Great Library with two or fewer empty spaces triggers the end. The second Event gives each player one final turn after the triggering Generation; the Library threshold means finish the current round. See Game End and Scoring.
Does placing a Local Scholar beneath the opponent cost Time?
Yes. In a two-player game, pay 2 Time when placing a Local Scholar beneath the opponent’s Local Scholar on the Generation track, and the opponent gains 2 Time. This penalty does not apply at 3–4 players. See Setup.
Do Scribes used in the Scriptorium return to the School?
No. Scribes used in the Scriptorium are discarded at the End of Generation as described in the core rules. See the seven locations.
Does a translated Manuscript on my Workshop shelf count as donated to the Great Library?
No. It stays on your shelf until you take the Fulfill a King’s Request Main action and place the required works in the shared Great Library. See Main actions.
