Planting and Harvesting

Grow peppers, then walk the paths to harvest cross-bred varieties.

Plant one pepper

In turn order, place one pepper from your supply on an empty plot that shares an edge with an already-planted plot. The two starting peppers are the only initial anchors. You may use a second-plant action tile for another pepper; you can earn at most one City Hall award plaque per round.

When a planted color still has plaques at City Hall, you may take the highest-value one from that stack. A striped plaque accepts a green, orange or purple pepper. You can earn the same color of plaque again in another round.

Harvest up to three steps

Move in reverse turn order. On round one, place your farmer at the star, choose a facing, and move at least one step; the star itself earns nothing. In later rounds, start from the notch where your farmer ended last time. A step ends at a notch between plots, including notches along the outside edge of the field.

You must move at least one and at most three steps. Do not pass through or stop on another farmer, turn around after movement begins, or reuse a path already crossed this turn. A move ending between two planted plots triggers cross-breeding: read those colors on the breeding chart and collect the resulting pepper or peppers. A crossed-out chart result gives you none.

Use a movement tile

The extra-step tile lets you take one fourth step. The double-back tile lets you reverse direction once, but it does not add a step; at a junction you may choose any legal next path, not only the one you just left.
