Tips & Strategy
Tips & Strategy for PDX.
How to teach it
Start with Teach the Game. Host game: let a player rehearse Reserve → Assign → Schedule, then advance that plane on the next turn. Explain suitcases after the first flight makes sense.
Your first game
Use the Beginner variant. Begin with a route that supplies services needed for the next destination, rather than reserving only high-point tiles you cannot yet assign. Early actions keep paying only if a matching plane can fly your gate.
Timing and interaction
Check the runway before leasing. Private offices can be visited by opponents; a visit can help their owner place a suitcase. Reserve destinations both for their immediate use and for the pace of the eight stacks. Keep the end trigger visible.
Videos versus the rulebook
The English rules use four face-up ads at every player count and resolve Tyler’s office die first. The plane moves off its final destination on a later landing phase. Use these rules when an earlier demonstration differs.
