Welcome to Paragliders

You are a paraglider pilot with one day — 08:00 to 20:00 — to fly a race over a hex map you build yourselves. Fly over the three antennas, collect landmark GPS markers, pull off stunts, then land as close as you can to the target in the middle.
Your only resource is altitude: thermals, clouds, sun and wind lift you; turning hard and speeding up cost height.
1–4 players, 25–100 minutes. Ready? Open the setup checklist.
One move a turn

On your turn you move one hexagon: straight ahead, or after turning one step left or right. A hard turn (two steps) costs 1 altitude. You can never go backwards.
Then add up the weather on your new hexagon and move your altitude marker. You may then accelerate one more hexagon straight ahead for 2 altitude. Your turn in full.
Read the sky
Four things change your altitude on the hexagon you move to:
- Thermal value of the terrain at today’s temperature (lakes sink, mountains lift);
- Sun on a mountainside facing it: +1;
- Wind on a mountainside facing it: +1 or +2;
- Under a cloud (on or next to it): +2.
Every hour a new Weather Tile changes temperature, clouds and wind — and the wind then pushes clouds and pilots. Weather.
Antennas, landmarks, stunts

Fly over each antenna to score it at once — the earlier in the day, the more it is worth. Fly over landmarks (and reach the balloon and cloud ceiling on the altitude track) to collect GPS markers, scored as a growing set at the end. In the advanced game, stunt cards add bonus challenges. Antennas, GPS and stunts.
Land on target
The game ends when everyone has landed or the clock reaches 20:00. Pilots with all three antennas score their landing rank, the landing time and their distance to the target; the others lose points for the antennas they missed. Everyone scores their GPS set. Most points wins. Game end and scoring.
