Tips & Strategy
Teach a trace before hiding the mine.
Teach the game
Trace one wave openly before putting up the screens. Ask a player to say the exit and colour, then repeat with a wave that encounters the same colour twice.
First game
Start with the five base pieces. In a shared puzzle, inexperienced hunters may use the spare piece set to help build candidate arrangements. This is a thinking aid, not permission to see the hidden mine.
Deduction
Record entry, exit and colour separately. Test questions that distinguish your remaining candidate layouts. A coordinate question can settle a local ambiguity that several wave tests leave unresolved.
Host game
Before accepting a solution, remind everyone how many attempts they have and whether the second player will get a final answer. Carefully retrace uncertain answers: a mistaken response can make the puzzle impossible to solve consistently.
