Solo Mode
Play against Carrington using Ludonova's official solo rules.
Setup
Set up a two-player game, then follow the solo rulebook’s changes. Choose a solo Deal tile for your selected difficulty, prepare Carrington’s area and action deck, and use the two player colors as instructed. The solo setup uses the separate publisher rulebook linked from the Ludonova product page.
Carrington’s turn
At the start of Carrington’s turn, reveal an action card. Resolve its instructions from top to bottom, using the card’s action and color priorities. Carrington moves its pawn without paying the normal pawn cost. If an action requires a choice, the solo rules provide priorities for selecting a company, city, tea, contract or mandate. If Carrington cannot pay, it takes a loan.
Actions and priorities
Carrington’s action card determines its action and worker color. On Import, it takes at most one matching tea box from each eligible city, prioritizing the leftmost open contract and tea color order red, white, green, then black; otherwise it stores the tea. On Expand, it uses the city priorities printed in the solo rules when choosing where to build. On Serve Tea, it uses those city priorities and may repeat a tea type. Carrington takes the lowest-numbered eligible Mandate.
Solo scoring
Use the base game’s end condition and scoring, with the additional contract and Mandate scoring adjustments in the solo rules. Carrington scores completed and partially completed contracts as described there; do not apply player-only bonuses to its contracts. The chosen solo Deal tile can change the challenge.
